Switching to Whole/Fresh Foods
After dinner with my parents last night, I am reminded of the value of eating whole, fresh foods. Whole foods means that you are eating the foods as they are and not processed. There are many healing properties in food (my dad who lives with Multiple Sclerosis & Rheumatoid Arthritis is proof of that). Spices like cinnamon and turmeric have anti-inflammatory properties, strawberries have high amounts of vitamin C, eggs are a great source of protein (and yes, the nutrients are in the yolks, so eat them). Make the switch to eating whole foods and less processed foods. Need a resource to get started? Check out the Paleo diet, Primal Blueprint diet, and the 100 days of real food blog (this last one is great for whole fresh foods on a budget).
